Legal Aspects: If you want to contain members in your film or trailer you must make sure you have followed the right rules and regulation you must do a risk assessment about what could go wrong and that could happen and best ways to over come anything going wrong. If you would like to record random people on the streets you must ask them for their permission before shooting.

Classifications: If you are making a ‘PG’ (Parental Guidance) film and you want to contain drugs in it you can do so but only if there is a anti-drug message. Films that mostly contain drugs, sexual nudity, discrimination, imitable behaviour and strong foul language are obviously not suitable for young viewers. If you want to contain any of the subjects above you may do so in a 18 rated film sometimes you can contain these in a 15 depending how frequent it is and what the message you are trying to give off is.

Research About Genre:

Genres are categories of a certain type of film, if its a funny film that would go under the Comedy Genre, or if it was funny and romantic at the same time then that would be a Rom-Com meaning Romantic Comedy. Genres make it easier for it to appeal to viewers its easier for me to find a interesting movie by going through the genres to see what film looks good and what actors the film has init.

Examples Below

  • Action – Fast Paced a lot of action scenes fighting
  • Comedy – Very Humorous
  • Horror – Scary, Jumpy
  • Crime – A lot of criminal behaviour

What are Film Trailers?

Film trailers are like little insights of the film before it is officially released. They are previews of the actual film to make you want to see even more of the film. Film trailers are made for everyone; they are made to alert people of what film is coming out.

Movie trailers are usually advertised on a specific type of channel like if it was a cartoon movie or a child’s film it would be advertised on a kids channel whereas if it were an action film it would be advertised on a channel like Sky 1 or even Channel 5.Film art work are usually published on build boards or on side of busses, some film advertisements may be found on the net as well like on YouTube before you watch a video an advertisement shows sometimes they advertise movies.

From time to time you may see films advertised on big build boards or on the side of buses depending on how well known the actors are or the producers. Mostly you will see them on TV or on the Internet.

Movie trailers are usually released couple months before the film is actually released so you have some time to figure out if you want to watch it or not, they do this to make you want to see more by putting some of the best scenes from the movie in the trailer. They are made to make you want to see what’s going on in the full movie, that’s why most film trailers end with cliffhangers.

Trailers of a film are usually advertised to reach out to a specific kind of audience; they use music and sometimes there best scenes to reach out to a wide spectrum of people.
